The PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education organised a two-day Regional Consultative Meeting on Vocational Education in Schools under Samagra Shiksha at PSSCIVE, Bhopal on 31^st January to 1^st February, 2023. The meeting was attended by around thirty-two participants, including State Officials of Directorate of School Education, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, State Council of Educational Research and Training in States/UTs of Western, Central and Northern Regions. The participants shared the status of vocational education in the States/Union Territories and the best practices in vocational education. Skill on Wheel, Hub and Spoke Model, Skill Hub initiative, Career Progression, and best practices in vocational education adopted by the states were discussed in the meeting. Representatives from Sector Skill Councils namely IT-ITes, Agriculture, Beauty and Wellness, Logistics, Telecommunication, Plumbing and Power shared their initiatives and placed emphasis on apprenticeship training programme. The faculty of PSSCIVE and delegates present in the virtual meeting deliberated on addressing various issues for effective implementation of vocational education in schools.
